Finally got to our apartment in Athens about 6pm Thursday afternoon (3am Friday morning, New Zealand time), approximately 44 hours after our last real sleep. Sleep, glorious sleep! You just don’t appreciate how great it is to lie down and stretch out in a real bed until you have spent 14 hours stuck in a tiny aeroplane seat, exhausted but terminally uncomfortable, trying to go to sleep and getting tearful when you can’t. We love Athens firstly because we slept in real beds!!
