Wednesday 20 June York

Collected our hire car in Cambridge and scooted up the A1 to York. What a fabulous town this is. We did the Jorvik Museum on  Wednesday night when we arrived, and then went out in the evening for a guided ‘Ghost Walk’ around the ancient streets, with a very entertaining guide, who took the mickey out of various tour participants with great humour and charm. The next morning we walked the part of the city walls between Bootham and Monkgate, admiring the York Minster as we went, and then wandered through the medieval streets of this beautiful city, taking in the Shambles and the National Railway Museum as we went.

  1. Hi again Wales, its Room One.
We have been quite busy down here, seeing as it is the last week of term. Here are some things we have done.
Made Puppets. We made them with cardboard, and we are performing plays to go with them. They had to be 5 minutes long, and that is quite a long time when you are talking!
Another thing is that we have had Maori Art Week. We did 3d Maori Gods in Room 3, kites in Room 1, newspaper collages in Room 5, and dyed suns in Room 2.
Another thing is Spelling Quiz. No one won from Roxburgh, but one team almost came first!
The last thing is that we are making a recipe book for the school. Everyone is bringing in a recipe from home, and the Year Sixes wrote to famous people for recipes.

So that was our busy week! I hope you enjoy the last few weeks of your holiday. Look forward to seeing you next Term!
    From Room One.

  2. Dear Room one -
it is good to hear that you are being so busy in the last week of term.
We are having a wonderful time. It is all going well. We have been driving for the last few days and seeing castles and lots of scenery. They have raggedy sheep here, and it was quite strage because only one was shorn. We saw a rabbit and a fox, and a badger set. In Conwy they had some amazing birds - I patted an eagle owl, she was only 9 weeks old and she was very fluffy. The birds of prey weren't too happy about being tied by their legs to the post.
I am looking forward to getting home.
    love Danae
