Friday 8 June Barcelona to Figueres

Early train from Barcelona about two hours north to the small town of Figueres, not far from the French border. This town’s claim to fame is that the surrealist artist Salvador Dali was born and lived much of his life here. In his later day, he took over the old theatre in the town, and turned it into a kind of gallery/museum of his life’s work. We had a wander around it - very interesting and kind of odd, as you would expect from Dali!

Entrance to Dali Museum

Portrait of Pablo Picasso - hmm, I'm guessing he did not like him?

Ceiling painting - little bit different from others we have seen, eg Sistine Chapel!!

Mae West room

We have seen this sculpture before ...

Snake made from teaspoons
