Well, we have finally made it to another country. Arrived in Hong Kong late last night, caught express train into the city and shuttle bus to our very flash hotel. Got to bed late, after midnight local time, but everyone found it fairly hard to get to sleep. Woke up early this morning (5.30 or so) and managed to stay in bed another half an hour, and then Danae and I got up to go and have a look around. Over 30 degrees already, very muggy. We saw the local playground, where all the older people were doing Tai Chi, playing ping pong, and walking their impeccably groomed little dogs. Also saw several people selling goldfish in plastic bags on the pavement, and a flower market. The fruit and vege market a couple of blocks away was already packed up for the day.
Kids now having a swim before midday hotel kick-out time, and then we are off to visit the big Buddha on the hill.
